My adventure on Swan Hellenic's new ship Vega
Magnificent day in Sermersooq sounds in Eastern Greenland

Today was one of those amazing days you never forget. We spent 90 minutes in a zodiac exploring the glacier and its surroundings. The expedition staff on board SH Vega and excellent. You know I’ve been on many expedition ships so I feel I can comment on this subject. They from all walks of life and countries, young and enthusiastic, nothing is a problem and will stop for photo’s etc whenever we wanted too which really makes it an enjoyable experience.

Speaking to the captain this morning, I was commenting on how well built the ship and in particular, the public areas and cabins. He explained everything was built onboard not prefabricated and you can tell, the finishes are of a very high quality, even down to the tiling in the bathrooms, every little detail is perfect and believe me, I’ve been looking!

I do love cruising on small ships, its so easy to navigate and if you forget something in your suite, its not far to go back.

I would recommend Swan Hellenic’s new expedition fleet to explore some of the world’s remote regions. One of their new ships is going to visit Australia, New Zealand and PNG next year. I’ll send the Kimberley itineraries when they are finalised. You can find the other destinations here on their website https://www.swanhellenic.com/
